Green Triumph: Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML) Achieved PUSAKA TERBINA UTAMA Environmental Excellence Award of East Java

In September 2023, Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML) underwent an environmental audit organized by the Environmental Authorities of East Java Province, known as PUSAKA Lingkungan, which stands for “Pembinaan Usaha / Kegiatan Amanah Lingkungan” (Guidance for Environmentally Responsible Business/Activities). This initiative was prompted by the implementation of the National PROPER program, focusing on encouraging businesses and activities (Non PROPER) in East Java to align their environmental management practices with the requirements of environmental permits. PUSAKA Lingkungan promotes Corporate Sustainability by encouraging businesses to adopt environmentally responsible practices through a guidance-oriented approach, emphasizing education and improvement over punitive measures.

During the PUSAKA Lingkungan program, HCML Environment and Operation team held technical guidance meeting coordination with Environmental Authorities of East Java Province in preparation for the field and documents verification. The PUSAKA verification result are categorized from lowest to highest as PUSAKA TERBINA PRATAMA, PUSAKA TERBINA MADYA, or PUSAKA TERBINA UTAMA based on the compliance with various aspects, including Water Pollution Control (PPA), Air Pollution Control (PPU), and Hazardous and Toxic Waste Control (PLB3).  This multi-faceted approach ensures a comprehensive and effective environmental management system within East Java Province.

As of February 2024, we are thrilled to announce that our company has been honored with PUSAKA TERBINA UTAMA environmental award by the Environment Authorities of East Java Province in recognition of our commitment to sustainable practices. This award is a testament to our unwavering dedication to managing water, air, and hazardous and toxic waste pollution control to create a responsible business conduct. Through meticulous efforts and a comprehensive approach to eco-friendly operations, we have not only met but exceeded the stringent criteria set by environmental authorities. This award not only highlights our company’s role as a responsible corporate citizen but also motivates us to continually raise the bar for environmental excellence.
